As a Principal Network Developer [NAT], you will serve as a senior technical leader for network acquisition and connectivity delivery across global infrastructure. You will operate at the intersection of network architecture, telecommunications, and data center engineering to translate complex requirements into deployable solutions. Your daily responsibilities include owning technical outcomes for carrier circuits, dark fiber, optical transport, and Internet transit while leading design reviews for topology, resiliency, and operational readiness. You will perform Layer 1 through Layer 3 troubleshooting and drive root cause analysis for systemic issues. Key technologies include BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP/IP, IPv4, and IPv6, alongside DWDM and fiber infrastructure. You will also define requirements for automation, monitoring, and AI-assisted engineering tools to improve network delivery and scalability.
Lead technical design reviews for global network topology, optical transport, and backbone connectivity.
Translate high-level business requirements into detailed technical delivery strategies and implementation plans.
Own technical outcomes for carrier circuits, dark fiber, wavelengths, and data center interconnects.
Perform complex Layer 1 through Layer 3 troubleshooting across fiber, optical, and routing layers.
Define technical acceptance standards and validation requirements for infrastructure delivered by external providers.
Lead root cause analysis and drive permanent corrective actions for systemic connectivity issues.
Develop global technical standards, design patterns, runbooks, and engineering best practices.
Define requirements for automation and AI-assisted tools to improve network delivery and monitoring.
What we're looking for
Applicants must be able to read, write, and speak English.
3 to 5+ years of experience is required.
Extensive experience is required in designing, building, operating, or delivering large-scale networks in hyperscale cloud, Tier 1 ISP, or telecommunications environments.
Expert-level knowledge in at least one networking domain (routing, optical transport, Internet, backbone, or data center) is required.
Strong knowledge of routing and networking protocols including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP/IP, IPv4, and IPv6 is required.
Deep experience troubleshooting complex network problems across physical, optical, Ethernet, transport, and routing layers is required.
Experience with scripting or programming and a strong understanding of software development and network automation concepts is required.
Experience designing or delivering carrier connectivity at global scale (preferred).
