What you'll do

Lead the design, implementation, and production validation of large-scale distributed systems and infrastructure initiatives.
Write and review secure, maintainable, and well-tested Java code for high-throughput services.
Design mechanisms for load shedding, caching, concurrency, and failure recovery to ensure system reliability.
Establish capacity models, performance objectives, and automated monitoring for critical platform components.
Lead complex incident investigations and automate recurring manual processes into preventive engineering improvements.
Provide architectural direction and mentor engineers on design, code review, and incident response.
Align multiple teams on technical decisions, risk assessments, and cross-functional rollout plans.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production backend or platform services.
Strong development experience in Java or another modern object-oriented language.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, fault tolerance, and production operations.
Experience leading substantial technical initiatives across multiple engineers or teams.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex production issues and improve service reliability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
