As a Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer within the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure team, you will design, prototype, and implement new software and trusted infrastructure to support customer security. You will tackle complex problems in distributed systems, multi-tenant services, and large-scale infrastructures to build innovative solutions from the ground up. The role requires expertise in high-level programming languages like Java or Python, alongside a deep understanding of system design, software architecture, APIs, microservices, databases, and data modeling. You will also utilize CI/CD, DevOps practices, observability tools, and possess strong knowledge of networking and operating systems such as Linux and Windows. This role specifically addresses the technical challenge of building secure, highly available cloud services and infrastructure to protect business-critical applications within a distributed, multi-tenant environment while proactively mitigating evolving security threats.

What you'll do

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong programming skills in high-level languages such as Java and/or Python.
Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems or cloud services.
Proficiency with data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and strong security and network experience.
Proven ability to independently lead technical initiatives with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
Experience in large cloud providers, building new cloud products, or working with Windows and Linux (preferred).
