Head of Developer Platforms & Experience, SVP, SVP leads the internal product organization responsible for designing, building, and operating the paved road for software delivery. This technical leadership role focuses on creating a common platform, toolchain, and automated control plane to make the compliant path the fastest path for engineers. The successful candidate will manage the developer portal, consolidate fragmented tooling estates, and develop multi-language libraries for logging, monitoring, authentication, and secrets management. Key responsibilities include defining technology standards, managing the Technology Radar, and overseeing secure SDLC capabilities like SBOM generation and artifact signing. The role requires expertise in CI/CD systems, Kubernetes, OpenShift, infrastructure-as-code, and observability stacks like Grafana. This position addresses the challenge of maintaining security and audit compliance within a regulated environment while increasing development velocity across mainframe, vendor-package, and cloud-based systems.
Design and deliver "golden paths" that automate security, compliance, and observability for software delivery.
Manage the enterprise CI/CD pipeline and consolidate fragmented tooling into a unified infrastructure.
Build and maintain multi-language common core libraries for logging, monitoring, authentication, and other shared services.
Establish an AI-assisted development tooling capability with integrated security guardrails.
Co-chair the Technology Standards Board to define and manage approved languages, frameworks, and tools.
Maintain the internal developer portal including service catalogs, documentation, and scaffolding.
Lead a high-caliber team by instilling product management and agile disciplines across the platform organization.
Advocate for platform adoption by translating technical capabilities into measurable business outcomes for senior leadership.
What we're looking for
Extensive, hands-on engineering career culminating in principal-engineer or senior platform-leadership roles with demonstrable personal technical depth.
Proven record building and operating developer platforms, internal developer portals, or platform-engineering functions at enterprise scale.
Deep expertise in modern delivery toolchains including CI/CD, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, and progressive delivery.
Strong command of secure SDLC practices such as SAST/DAST/SCA, secrets management, and SBOM generation.
Fluency in distributed systems and hybrid compute across cloud and on-premise environments.
Demonstrated product-management and agile discipline applied to internal platforms including SLOs and roadmaps.
Executive presence to shape technical standards and defend investment cases to senior leadership.
Financial services or regulated industry experience, common core library rollout, and AI-assisted tooling integration (preferred).
