Managing Director, Cloud Platform serves as the senior technology leader responsible for the strategy, engineering, delivery, and operation of the cloud platform supporting mission-critical investment accounting SaaS products. This role oversees infrastructure outcomes including availability, resiliency, scalability, security, and cost effectiveness while establishing a platform-as-product operating model. The leader will manage complex Azure and Kubernetes environments, specifically Azure Kubernetes Service, to support data-intensive workloads. Key responsibilities include driving automation through Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and CI/CD practices, while managing multi-region resilience and disaster recovery. The role requires expertise in microservices, networking, and security protocols within a regulated financial services environment. Essential skills include proficiency with tools like Terraform, Argo CD, Prometheus, Grafana, and Dynatrace to ensure high performance and operational excellence for the underlying cloud infrastructure.
Define and execute a multi-year cloud platform strategy for investment accounting products aligned with business goals.
Manage the end-to-end infrastructure lifecycle, including design, provisioning, performance scaling, and cost optimization for Azure environments.
Oversee the technical direction and governance of enterprise-grade Kubernetes platforms across all production environments.
Drive improvements in system resilience, availability, and security through automated recovery and proactive risk management.
Act as the primary executive liaison between platform engineering, product management, and application development teams.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps practices to automate deployment pathways and ensure consistent infrastructure standards.
Manage cloud economics by overseeing budget planning, vendor strategy, and FinOps practices for the platform.
Build and lead a global engineering organization across cloud, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, and reliability domains.
What we're looking for
15+ years of progressive technology experience including leadership in cloud platforms, infrastructure engineering, SaaS operations, or large-scale distributed systems.
Demonstrated success managing mission-critical platforms with high demands for availability, performance, security, and regulatory compliance.
Deep technical expertise in Kubernetes, containers, and microservice-based applications.
Extensive experience with complex Microsoft Azure deployments including AKS, networking, identity, security, monitoring, and hybrid integration.
Proven leadership in infrastructure delivery, platform modernization, production operations, incident management, disaster recovery, and resilience improvement.
Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, CI/CD, DevSecOps, SRE, observability, and automation practices.
Ability to align product, development, architecture, security, and operations teams toward shared outcomes.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
