TL;DR · Physical Design Engineer
As a Physical Design Engineer, you will join the hardware team to manage physical design, EMIR, physical verification, and timing closure. You will collaborate with partition or SOC level points of contact to ensure designs progress toward closure while resolving integration issues. Your daily responsibilities include analyzing power, area, timing, and DRC matrices to improve performance and developing new methodologies for faster design closure. You will utilize tools such as Innovus, Voltus, and Primetime while interacting with the EDI company for tool enhancements. Required skills include using Tcl, Perl, or Python for scripting, optimizing leakage power in Primetime, and performing floorplanning and place and route via Synopsys ICC or Cadence Innovus. You will also diagnose timing constraints, resolve DCD and MPW violations, and perform static timing and noise analysis to ensure high-quality clock signals.
