The Pharmacy Business Analyst III serves as an independent professional contributor within the pharmacy system office. This role requires a deep domain subject matter expert to solve complex pharmacy business questions by bridging the gap between raw data and actionable strategy. Key responsibilities include building predictive models, leading project teams, gathering business requirements, and developing rapid proofs-of-concept to drive operational or financial decisions. The position focuses on regulatory compliance, medication safety, and medication ordering data. Required technical skills include advanced SQL for querying Epic Clarity databases, advanced Excel modeling, and data visualization using Power BI or Tableau. Candidates must also possess experience with Epic pharmacy workflows, including Willow and SlicerDicer, as well as familiarity with Pyxis systems, HL7 messages, and APIs to support medication safety and quality improvement measures.
Build predictive models and deliver actionable insights to drive pharmacy operational and financial decisions.
Lead business and technical requirements gathering to bridge the gap between raw data and strategy.
Develop rapid proofs-of-concept and present data-driven recommendations to operational leaders.
Query Epic Clarity databases using SQL to extract, reconcile, and validate pharmacy and medication-use data.
Create and maintain advanced reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or Epic reporting tools.
Analyze medication errors, near misses, and adverse drug events to support medication safety and quality improvement.
Map workflows and conduct user acceptance testing to support application implementations or conversions.
Troubleshoot SaaS applications and interfaces, including data-feed validation and API monitoring.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field (equivalent experience accepted).
6 years of recent relevant experience.
Epic Cogito Certification within one year.
Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate within one year.
Advanced proficiency in data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI and advanced Excel modeling.
Advanced SQL skills for independent data extraction and complex data exploration.
Proven experience independently solving complex business problems using advanced analytics and predictive modeling.
Experience supporting hospital or health-system pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and medication safety (preferred).
