As a Solutions Analyst III on the Commercial & Investment Bank Payments Technology team, you will bridge the gap between product owners, business units, operations, and software developers. You will be responsible for eliciting and documenting business and data flow requirements, translating them into technically feasible solutions while managing dependencies across complex systems. Your daily work involves analyzing end-to-end payment investigation journeys to identify impacts on processes and data, then creating Jira artifacts such as epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria. You will produce process maps, workflow diagrams, and impact assessments to guide development. The role requires expertise in payment investigations, including inquiries, tracing, and reconciliation. Preferred skills include knowledge of SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022, SQL, Confluence, Lucidchart, Visio, and experience with domestic or cross-border payment flows within a regulated financial services environment.
Bridge the gap between product owners, business units, and software developers to create technically feasible solutions.
Elicit and document business and data flow requirements into structured technical specifications.
Analyze end-to-end payment investigation journeys to identify impacts on processes, systems, and data.
Create Jira artifacts including epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and defect tracking.
Develop process flows, current/future-state maps, business rules, and impact assessments for stakeholders.
Use payment and operational data to validate requirements and recommend technology improvements.
Manage dependencies, risks, and traceability from initial requirement through final delivery.
Communicate progress, risks, and technical recommendations clearly to diverse stakeholder audiences.
What we're looking for
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Solutions Analyst, Product Analyst, Payments Operations Analyst, or in a comparable role.
Direct experience in payment investigations or related payment exception management such as inquiries, tracing, repairs, returns, recalls, reconciliation, or case management.
Ability to gather, analyze, and document stakeholder requirements into clear, testable delivery requirements within an Agile environment.
Proficiency in creating Jira artifacts including epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and defects.
Ability to produce core BA documentation such as process maps, workflow diagrams, business rules, data requirements, and impact assessments.
Strong analytical skills to assess impacts on payment journeys, processes, systems, teams, and data to recommend necessary enhancements.
Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills to work with Operations, Product, Technology, and Engineering teams.
Knowledge of payment lifecycles, SWIFT, ISO 20022, or cross-border flows (preferred); experience with SQL, BI tools, Confluence, Lucidchart, Visio, or AI tools (preferred).
