What you'll do

  • Manage the overall compliance and health of nuclear mechanical component programs including valves and snubbers.
  • Monitor component performance through field walkdowns, trending, condition evaluation, and maintenance strategy implementation.
  • Provide technical support for event investigation, troubleshooting, regulatory correspondence, and design modifications.
  • Evaluate risks and develop in-depth risk mitigation and elimination strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety, quality assurance, radiation protection regulations, and ASME codes.
  • Control costs by optimizing resources and tracking expenditures within established budget parameters.
  • Use self-assessments and industry benchmarking to drive continuous improvement in program effectiveness.
  • Develop and present technical reports including improvement requisitions, studies, and analyses.

What we're looking for

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent combination of degrees.
  • Preferred engineering degrees include Mechanical, Chemical, and Nuclear.
  • Experience with nuclear Engineering Programs, specifically Component Programs like Snubber and Valve programs, is preferred.
  • Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is encouraged and preferred.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred.
  • Must be able to maintain a permanent residence within a 45-minute drive of the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant.
  • Must be local and available to work onsite for outages.
