Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician IV
The Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician IV joins the Joint Fires Network team to support GIG capabilities and services within the Defense Information System Network. This role involves managing incident tickets via ServiceNow ITSM+S and JIRA, monitoring network events 24/7/365, and performing fault analysis to identify root causes and coordinate corrections. The technician will troubleshoot network elements, manage a centralized error database, provide situational awareness to leadership, and ensure compliance with SLAs. Key technical requirements include proficiency in routers, switches, crypto devices, and technologies such as Cisco, Juniper, Promina, MSPP, DWDM, and SolarWinds. Candidates must possess an active DoD Top Secret clearance and a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification. The role addresses critical infrastructure challenges by maintaining network stability, performing circuit rerouting, and providing advanced technical guidance for complex multi-layer issues across various domains.
Manage incident tickets and triage the queue using ServiceNow and JIRA.
Monitor network events and failures 24/7/365 to identify root causes and impacts.
Provide situational awareness to leadership and communicate status updates to customers.
Perform fault isolation, troubleshooting, and testing on various network elements.
Replace faulty components and coordinate with service providers to restore services.
Update the Configuration Management Database and ensure compliance with established SLAs.
Provide technical guidance and advanced support for complex multi-layer network issues.
Train and monitor Network controllers while evaluating training programs and SOPs.
What we're looking for
High school diploma or equivalent and 3–5 years of prior relevant experience.
Must have an active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Must have a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE) by the start date.
Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment.
Experience in alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN/WAN maintenance, or performance management.
Advanced knowledge in at least four areas including routers, switches, crypto devices, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, or Optical Switching.
Moderate understanding of network topologies, including both transport and IP.
Experience in tech control facilities, cyber transport operations, circuit actions, vendor management, or Telco NOC operations (preferred); additional certifications like CCNA, CYSA+, or ITILv4 are desirable (preferred).
