The Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician III role supports the Defense Information System Network within a 24x7 global operations center. Working in the TRANSPORT / IP team, you will manage real-time network events, perform incident correlation, and conduct fault analysis to resolve infrastructure issues. Daily responsibilities include creating Remedy tickets, troubleshooting hardware and software failures, coordinating with service providers for restoration, and providing situational awareness to leadership. You will navigate complex network topologies while managing circuit rerouting and configuration management updates. The role requires proficiency in technologies including Cisco, Juniper, Promina, MSPP, DWDM, Optical Switching, and crypto devices. Candidates must possess an active Secret clearance and DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification. This position addresses critical connectivity challenges for national security organizations by ensuring continuous network availability and performance across various transport and IP services.
Monitor network events and element management failures in real-time across multiple monitoring tools on a 24/7 basis.
Perform incident correlation and fault analysis to identify root causes and impact of alarm conditions.
Troubleshoot, isolate, and log failed network elements including systems, hardware, software, and circuits.
Coordinate with service providers to correct faulty components and restore services to meet established SLAs.
Execute rerouting and normalization of services and circuits following outages or authorized service interruptions.
Create, update, and track incident tickets within the Remedy system while providing status updates to leadership.
Provide technical advice and insight to peers and customers to resolve complex network issues.
Assist in training network controllers and provide feedback on standard operating procedures and tools.
What we're looking for
Must possess an active Secret security clearance and be able to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
Must hold a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification, such as Security+ CE, at the start date.
High school diploma and 3-5 years of experience required.
Ability to work in a 24/7 operation.
Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, or performance management.
Expertise in three or more areas including routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, or Optical Switching.
General understanding of both transport and IP network topologies.
Experience with tech control facilities, cyber transport, circuit actions, vendor relations, IP architecture, or Telco NOC experience (preferred).
