Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician II
The Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician II joins the Digital Modernization Sector and Global Solutions Management-Operations II team to support GIG capabilities and services within a 24x7 global operations center. This role involves monitoring network events, analyzing alarms, correlating fault information, and identifying root causes to restore services and ensure compliance with SLAs. The technician manages incident tickets using ServiceNow/ITSM, provides situational awareness to leadership, and coordinates with service providers to resolve outages. Key technical requirements include proficiency in routers, switches, crypto devices, and technologies such as Cisco, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, and Optical Switching. Candidates must possess a Security+ CE or equivalent certification and experience in alarm surveillance, fault management, or LAN maintenance. The role addresses critical infrastructure challenges by maintaining network integrity across transport and IP topologies for national security organizations.
Create, update, and monitor incident tickets using ServiceNow/ITSM systems.
Monitor network events and element management failures in a 24x7 environment.
Analyze alarms to identify root causes and coordinate necessary fault corrections.
Troubleshoot and diagnose complex network issues involving routers, switches, and crypto devices.
Provide global situational awareness updates regarding outages to leadership and affected communities.
Coordinate with external service providers to track and restore failed services.
Restore networks and services to full operation while ensuring compliance with SLAs.
What we're looking for
US Citizenship is required.
Must possess an active Secret security clearance.
Must have a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., Security+ CE) by the start date.
High school diploma and 1-3 years of experience are required.
Demonstrated experience in alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, or performance management.
Proficiency in at least two of: routers, switches, crypto devices, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, or Optical Switching.
General understanding of network topologies, including both transport and IP (preferred).
Experience in tech control facilities, cyber transport operations, circuit actions, vendor management, or Telco NOC operations (preferred).
