What you'll do

Lead DFMA initiatives to optimize mechanical designs, material selections, and assembly methods for aerospace components.
Conduct design reviews to identify and resolve manufacturability issues in 3D models, drawings, and GD&T callouts.
Manage supplier selection, qualification, and the development of manufacturing processes and tooling strategies.
Develop manufacturing BOMs, routings in MES, and establish cycle time standards for production.
Plan assembly line layouts and define material flows for space-based and terrestrial products.
Program and integrate automated assembly equipment and systems using common communication protocols.
Implement automated quality statistical process controls (SPC) and manage non-conformances to ensure aerospace standard compliance.
Analyze production data to track KPIs such as OEE, capacity utilization, and throughput.

What we're looking for

Must have at least 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Must have experience with prototyping and implementation.
Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume is preferred.
Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools is preferred.
Expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) is required.
Ability to manage supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding for aerospace components.
Proficiency in manufacturing processes including CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and composite layup.
Knowledge of automated quality statistical process controls (SPC) and production data analysis.
