What you'll do

Perform opto-mechanical design and layout trade studies for satellite payloads and ground-based equipment.
Execute design validation testing in environments such as thermal-vacuum, shock, and random vibration.
Conduct structural, thermal, and optical (STOP) analysis using finite element methods to verify technical solutions.
Facilitate cost trades on multiple configurations to balance manufacturability against design uncertainty.
Generate detailed CAD designs and engineering drawings with appropriate geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Produce technical reports, documentation, and presentations for design reviews and proposal efforts.
Design and support development and qualification test campaigns for space hardware.
Translate customer requirements into robust technical solutions backed by data and analysis.

What we're looking for

Must be a US Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
2+ years of experience as an opto-mechanical engineer.
Understanding of STOP analysis and its impact on opto-mechanical design.
Experience with space-based optical systems and electro-mechanical systems integration.
Proficiency in CAD systems, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
