The Manufacturing Engineer joins the Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) Engineering team within the Systems Engineering, Integration, Test, and Manufacturing organization. The position requires expertise in space systems build, integration, and test of complex electronics, electro-mechanical, electro-optical, and opto-mechanical subsystems. The work focuses on delivering custom space and terrestrial applications, including satellite bus components, payloads, and custom terminals for government customers.

What you'll do

Design, develop, and maintain MES applications and workflows for assembly, integration, and test operations.
Architect and maintain integrations between MES, ERP/MRP, and PLM systems to ensure seamless data flow.
Create and optimize digital work instructions, operator interfaces, and data collection forms.
Develop master routers and plans in the MES that align with production requirements and quality standards.
Implement automated quality control checkpoints, statistical process control monitoring, and non-conformance tracking.
Build traceability systems for serialized components and assemblies to ensure aerospace quality standards.
Develop automated reporting and KPI dashboards for metrics such as OEE, throughput, and cycle times.
Support floor operations with real-time system monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of defects.

What we're looking for

Must be a US Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI.
4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience with prototyping and implementation.
Strong technical background in space systems build, integration, and test of complex electronics and subsystems (preferred).
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent (preferred).
