Manufacturing Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and improve production processes for assembly, integration, and testing of spacecraft modules.
• Serve as the primary technical lead from the factory during design reviews and new product development activities.
• Resolve complex industrial challenges to balance production velocity, quality standards, and cost-competitive manufacturing concepts.
• Manage the capacity increase roadmap by identifying, procuring, and qualifying necessary capital equipment for production scaling.
• Act as a high-level problem solver to resolve technical escalations and quality containment issues under pressure.
• Lead a team of manufacturing engineers to execute technical visions and develop their professional skillsets.
• Partner with design teams to develop future iterations of systems, sub-assemblies, and associated testing tools.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics, optical engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in hardware design and validation of components, subsystems, and systems.
• Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
• Demonstrated experience with opto-mechanical systems, including fiber optic assembly, laser systems fabrication, and mechatronic systems.
• Familiarity with Low-Rate Manufacturing environments and New Product Introduction processes.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices and principles.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Export control laws and regulations, candidates.
