Manager Programs 2 joins the Defense Systems team to manage the full program lifecycle from proposal development through contract closeout. The role involves leading cross-functional Integrated Program Teams to ensure all contractual requirements are met on cost, schedule, and technical performance. Key responsibilities include cultivating customer relationships, developing new business opportunities through strategic planning, managing project resources, and overseeing risk and opportunity management practices. Manage program cost, schedule, and technical performance across all phases from proposal to closeout.
Lead cross-functional Integrated Program Teams to meet specific contract requirements and milestones.
Cultivate customer relationships to identify new business opportunities and develop strategic proposals.
Negotiate contracts, changes, operating budgets, and key terms with government and commercial customers.
Track and manage program requirements through the creation of Statements of Work and baseline management.
Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar tools to monitor and report program performance.
Conduct risk and opportunity management by identifying, mitigating, and communicating potential issues.
Manage resources including workforce planning, supplier relations, and government-supplied property.
What we're looking for
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance.
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years experience (or BS in STEM and 9 years), or Master’s degree and 8 years (or MS in STEM and 7 years) supporting government contracts or project management.
6 years of experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost, and achieving all requirements as a project lead, IPT, or cost account manager.
6 years of demonstrated success leading teams or organizations to achieve a common goal.
Competency in Project Management skills, toolsets, pricing, proposals, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Technical understanding of ammunition products and ballistic performance (preferred).
Experience in aerospace/defense, DoD, NASA, Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or PMP certification (preferred).
