Manager, Environmental Health & Safety, Specs Operations serves as the EHS leader for Specs Operations, providing strategic leadership across manufacturing, R&D, engineering, and operational environments. The role involves establishing a unified EHS strategy, managing governance, ensuring regulatory compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, and fostering a high-performance safety culture. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing hazardous materials, chemical safety, machine safety, laser safety, industrial hygiene, and hazardous gas systems while leading risk assessments for cleanroom operations. The candidate will manage EHS specialists, oversee incident investigations, and coordinate emergency preparedness programs across multiple global locations. Required expertise includes experience in semiconductor, advanced technology, or hardware development environments. Key competencies include technical risk communication, multi-site program management, and navigating complex regulatory landscapes to ensure safety during facility expansions and equipment installations.
Develop and oversee global EHS standards, programs, and strategic initiatives across manufacturing, R&D, and engineering environments.
Manage EHS management systems to ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and local regulatory requirements.
Lead enterprise-level risk assessments for high-hazard areas including cleanrooms, chemical safety, laser safety, and hazardous gas systems.
Integrate EHS requirements into facility design, equipment procurement, and capital project execution.
Manage the performance, coaching, and career development of a team of EHS specialists.
Lead investigations into serious incidents and near misses using root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.
Oversee emergency preparedness, business continuity programs, and response efforts for significant safety events.
Utilize data analytics and risk trends to develop business cases for EHS investments and infrastructure growth.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
10+ years of progressive Environmental Health & Safety experience.
3+ years of people leadership experience managing EHS professionals or leading multi-site EHS programs.
Expert knowledge of EHS management systems, regulatory compliance, and risk management in manufacturing, R&D, cleanroom, or semiconductor environments.
Experience leading EHS programs across multiple locations, business units, or regulatory jurisdictions.
Strong communication skills to convey technical and regulatory risks to executive and non-technical audiences.
Preferred advanced certifications such as NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6), CSP, or CMIOSH.
