The EH&S Engineer 3 provides technical leadership for environmental, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, chemical management, and process safety programs at a semiconductor manufacturing, R&D, and logistics campus. This role involves evaluating equipment, chemicals, and processes to identify risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining ISO 14001 certification. Key responsibilities include performing hazard assessments, participating in HAZOPs, conducting root cause analyses for incidents, and managing corrective and preventive actions. The candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to engineering and manufacturing teams while delivering safety training and supporting emergency response activities. Required expertise includes risk assessment, industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management, and knowledge of Oregon OSHA, DEQ, EPA, NFPA, and IFC/OFC frameworks. Candidates should possess strong project management skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools to manage complex operational environments and ensure environmental stewardship.
Develop and improve environmental, health, safety, and chemical management programs.
Evaluate equipment, processes, and chemicals to identify risks through risk assessments and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
Support process safety activities including hazard assessments, HAZOP participation, and implementation of risk reduction measures.
Provide technical guidance on industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management, and environmental compliance.
Analyze EHS performance data and audit results to establish corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Lead incident investigations and perform root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
Conduct compliance assessments, inspections, and audits to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
Deliver EHS training and technical guidance to employees and contractors.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, industrial, laboratory, chemical, or similarly regulated environments.
Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and compliance evaluations.
Expertise in process safety management including hazard analysis, HAZOPs, layers of protection, and root cause analysis.
Strong knowledge of environmental, occupational health, industrial hygiene, hazardous materials, and regulatory compliance principles.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools.
Preferred: Master's degree in a related technical field.
Preferred: Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and specific regional regulatory frameworks like Oregon OSHA or EPA.
