Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Advisor

What you'll do

• Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of the site HSE management system.
• Provide technical guidance as the primary HSE subject matter expert for manufacturing and laboratory environments.
• Ensure compliance with UK environmental and occupational health regulations including COSHH, DSEAR, and PUWER.
• Manage risk assessment programs for manufacturing processes, equipment, and new technology introductions.
• Oversee hazardous materials management, specifically focusing on toxic and hazardous gas safety systems.
• Lead site HSE audits, inspections, and interactions with regulatory bodies.
• Develop and deliver mandatory and role-based HSE training programs for employees and contractors.
• Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis and coordinate emergency response activities.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6) or an equivalent professional qualification.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in Environmental Health & Safety.
• Strong knowledge of UK HSE regulatory requirements including COSHH, DSEAR, PUWER, and environmental permitting.
• Experience managing hazardous materials, toxic gases, and laboratory safety programs.
• Ability to lead site-level HSE programs and provide technical leadership to cross-functional partners.
• Preferred experience in semiconductor manufacturing, cleanroom, or advanced manufacturing environments.
• Preferred knowledge of HSG65 principles and ISO 14001/ISO 45001 management systems.
