Manager, Engineering Program Management - Ai & Data Platforms (AiDP) leads and grows a team of senior Engineering Program Managers within the Data Service platform group. This role involves translating multi-year strategies into actionable programs, overseeing a portfolio of over thirty concurrent programs, and managing scope, deliverables, and risks. The manager will drive planning and delivery processes to deploy features across various platforms, including relational, NoSQL, search, vector, graph, cache, and streaming technologies. Key technical requirements include experience with Postgres, MongoDB, CockroachDB, Snowflake, SingleStore, Milvus, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code. The role addresses the business problem of building, deploying, and trusting AI agents by integrating large-scale data platforms with generative AI across private and public clouds like AWS, GCP, and AliCloud to streamline organizational adoption.
Build, lead, and grow a team of senior Engineering Program Managers including hiring and career development.
Partner with engineering leaders to set the multi-year strategy and roadmap for Data Services platforms.
Manage a portfolio of 30+ concurrent programs by prioritizing investments, headcount, and cloud spend.
Design and own the organization’s operating model, including planning cycles, program reviews, and executive readouts.
Lead strategic infrastructure programs involving multi-cloud deployments, large migrations, and disaster recovery.
Own TCO and efficiency goals by setting and reporting metrics like cost avoidance and reliability.
Improve program processes by using enterprise GenAI tools to automate reporting and scale team impact.
What we're looking for
8+ years of technical program management experience in engineering organizations.
4+ years of experience managing people, including senior Engineering Program Managers or technical program managers.
A track record of owning a large, cross-functional infrastructure or data platform portfolio with director-level visibility.
Strong technical understanding of database and data platform architecture such as Postgres, MongoDB, CockroachDB, Snowflake, SingleStore, or vector databases.
Experience shaping strategy, managing budgets or headcount, and influencing senior leaders without direct authority.
BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant industry experience.
Experience with agile project management and software development (preferred).
Experience with private or hybrid cloud, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, and build and release systems (preferred).
