The Manager Cyber Systems Engineering 2 serves in a dual role encompassing both people leadership and direct technical performance within the Systems Engineering Group. This position manages a team of managers and individual contributors, overseeing staffing, mentoring, and career development while ensuring the team meets technical requirements for multiple programs. Technically, the individual will spend at least 80% of their time on classified programs, providing guidance on system architecture, flight test events, and cyber requirements. Key responsibilities include performing cyber-attack surface analysis, developing engineering processes, and ensuring weapon system compliance with standards like CNSSI 1253 and DoD 8570. The role requires expertise in Agile, DevSecOps, NIST 800-160, and RMF assessment artifacts to support the development of Launch and Missile Defense systems while solving complex problems across various engineering disciplines.
Manage a team of managers and individual contributors while providing performance feedback and career development.
Oversee staffing requirements, workload forecasting, and recruitment efforts for the cyber systems engineering discipline.
Provide technical guidance and decision-making to ensure high-quality product deliveries and flight test events.
Ensure weapon system compliance with contractually obligated cybersecurity standards such as CNSSI 1253 and DoD 8570.
Design cyber systems architecture changes with traceability to requirements and provide implementation oversight across teams.
Conduct cyber-attack surface analyses of system designs to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Develop and document technical engineering processes, procedures, and documentation for cybersecurity assessment activities.
Solve complex problems and research technical solutions within an Agile and DevSecOps environment.
What we're looking for
Possession of an active Secret clearance and eligibility for Top Secret and Special Access.
Bachelor’s degree with 10 years, Master’s with 8 years, or PhD with 6 years of experience in related engineering fields; or 14 years of experience without a degree.
Proven leadership skills to manage multi-discipline engineering teams and serve as both a people and technical leader.
Direct experience utilizing NIST 800-160 system security engineering and the system development life cycle.
Proficiency in systems engineering activities including requirement decomposition, architecture, design, implementation, integration, and verification.
Ability to obtain an IASAE II certification (CISSP preferred) within six months of hire.
