What you'll do

  • Direct the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and compressed air.
  • Provide technical leadership and line management for department operations, programs, and personnel activities.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted building services across all site facilities.
  • Manage the department budget and control expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Provide technical direction and prioritize service tasks for direct reports to meet cost and schedule requirements.
  • Utilize building automation systems, CMMS, and predictive maintenance programs to manage facility operations.
  • Collect and analyze data to present operational information to senior management.
  • Resolve employee and service-related issues in accordance with labor relations and collective bargaining agreements.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles as they apply to the design and operation of building services.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems, controls, metering, CMMS, and predictive/preventive maintenance systems.
  • Ability to provide technical direction and prioritize services for direct reports while ensuring safety and cost requirements.
  • Proficiency in collecting and analyzing data and presenting information to senior management.
  • Skill in conflict management, interpersonal relations, training, and promoting team effectiveness.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with policies regarding finance, personnel, procurement, ES&H, and collective bargaining agreements.
