Stationary Engineer

What you'll do

• Operate and monitor building mechanical systems including high-pressure boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and air handling units.
• Perform routine inspections and adjust controls to maintain optimal performance and energy efficiency.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on all mechanical systems according to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain detailed logs of equipment operation, readings, maintenance activities, and repairs performed.
• Respond to emergency situations including equipment failures, alarms, and system malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot problems and perform repairs to restore building systems to proper operation.
• Coordinate with external contractors when specialized repairs are required.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards including OSHA and EPA requirements.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must be a member of or willing to join the local union.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating building mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of boiler operations, HVAC systems, and building automation is required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification is preferred.
• Additional trade certifications in electrical or plumbing are preferred.
