You will solve complex technical challenges by transitioning outdated systems into modern infrastructures while ensuring compliance with security and data governance requirements throughout the entire transformation lifecycle.

What you'll do

  • Develop comprehensive transformation roadmaps for rehosting, reengineering, refactoring, and re-platforming mainframe environments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to C-level stakeholders to provide counsel on modernization strategies and technical trade-offs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of architects, developers, and analysts to execute projects on time and within budget.
  • Establish and manage program governance frameworks including reporting cadences, escalation paths, and change management protocols.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, operational, and organizational risks throughout the modernization lifecycle.
  • Partner with architects to design migration architectures using cloud-native patterns and DevOps practices.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure modernized systems meet performance and reliability requirements.
  • Mentor and develop a team of professionals while identifying and addressing internal skill gaps.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 8 years of consulting experience including leadership of mainframe modernization or large-scale legacy transformation programs.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with mainframe technologies and modernization strategies like rehosting, reengineering, refactoring, and re-platforming.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience working with Mainframe Migration and Modernization partners and vendor ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated experience with microservices architecture, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines as modernization targets.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an Associate’s degree with at least 6 years of work experience, or 12 years of work experience without a degree.
  • In-depth knowledge of legacy mainframe platforms including IBM z/OS, CICS, DB2, COBOL, and IMS.
  • Familiarity with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and associated DevOps toolchains.
  • Preferred certifications include PMP, SAFe, or relevant IBM, AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications for mainframe modernization.
