Senior Manager, HPC & AI System Application Performance Engineering

What you'll do

• Lead a team of computational scientists and performance engineers to optimize HPC and AI applications for AMD hardware.
• Drive the delivery of Exascale-ready applications to internal business units and external customers.
• Achieve full system application performance targets for Exascale-class customers.
• Coordinate technical content for customer RFPs and business proposals.
• Manage internal HPC development system administrators to support team operations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish program requirements and project schedules.
• Work with internal teams to continuously improve AMD's software products.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must possess a PhD or equivalent accomplishments in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related scientific computing domains.
• Candidates must be eligible for a U.S. Department of Energy Q-level access authorization.
• Demonstrated track record of software team management and leadership is required.
• Technical expertise in foundational science, computer science, computer architecture, or computational mathematics is required.
• Experience with HPC and AI software stacks is required.
• Experience managing and collaborating across a geographically distributed team is preferred.
• Proficiency in JIRA or similar project management tools in an Agile environment is preferred.
• Experience with large machine procurement processes and export control compliance is a plus.
