What you'll do

  • Perform stress analysis and liaison duties to support green aircraft repair, rework, and alteration.
  • Review engineering drawings and use 3D modeling systems like CATIA to evaluate designs.
  • Research and prepare calculations while writing and reviewing technical stress reports.
  • Ensure all activities comply with FAA regulations and other international airworthiness standards.
  • Resolve complex engineering issues by balancing technical requirements, production costs, and project schedules.
  • Develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities to improve product quality.
  • Perform structural design work and troubleshooting while managing multiple high-priority tasks.
  • Utilize finite element modeling and fatigue analysis techniques to evaluate aircraft structures.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical curriculum is required.
  • Must have 10 years of experience in a specific technical discipline or 15 years of broad engineering experience with a bachelor's degree.
  • Must possess working knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations, specifically Chapter I, Part 25.
  • Must have basic knowledge of 14CFR 145 repair station activities and aircraft repairs performed per 14CFR43.
  • Must have experience reviewing engineering drawings, performing calculations, and writing or reviewing stress reports.
  • Must be proficient in using 3D modeling systems, typically CATIA, to review engineering designs.
  • Advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum (preferred).
  • Experience with electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, 2D repair drawings, Gulfstream aircraft, FAA DER/ODA membership, and FEMAP/PATRAN analysis (preferred).
