As a Lead Software Engineer - Sr. Java/AWS Developer within the Consumer & Community Banking Auto team, you will serve as a core technical contributor building secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will architect and deliver critical solutions, perform hands-on development, and lead technical evaluations with external vendors and internal teams. Your daily work involves building production code, troubleshooting complex problems, and automating remediation to improve operational excellence. You will utilize Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, JPA, RESTful APIs, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL technologies like MongoDB or Cassandra. The role requires expertise in AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka to manage microservices in hybrid environments. You will also drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Design and deliver scalable software solutions through hands-on development and technical troubleshooting.
Build secure production code and strengthen engineering standards through code reviews and debugging.
Improve operational excellence by identifying recurring issues and automating remediation to reduce manual toil.
Lead technical evaluations with external vendors and internal teams to assess architecture quality and integration readiness.
Promote modern engineering practices by leading communities of practice and sharing reusable patterns.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge and automation capabilities to improve overall development value.
What we're looking for
Experience architecting, building, and supporting scalable, distributed applications in product-based and/or financial services environments.
Experience leading large-scale modernization initiatives using microservices architecture across public cloud (Amazon Web Services) and hybrid environments.
Hands-on experience designing and deploying Amazon Web Services solutions, including service selection, network fundamentals, and cloud security controls.
Experience building, containerizing, and scaling microservices-based applications using AWS Lambda, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Advanced proficiency in Java, J2EE frameworks, Spring Boot, JPA, RESTful APIs, and web services.
Strong database experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and query optimization.
Experience with NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, or Neo4j) and messaging platforms (Apache Kafka or TIBCO MQ).
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on responsible AI use (preferred).
