As a Lead Software Engineer - Java/AWS within the Consumer & Community Banking – SB Lending Tech team, you will join an agile team to build and deliver secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will lead the end-to-end design of Java services and APIs, architect cloud-native solutions on Amazon Web Services, and mentor engineers through code reviews and design guidance. Your daily work involves building data pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark, managing automated testing, and driving engineering excellence in CI/CD pipelines. You will also oversee the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed. Required skills include advanced Java experience with Spring Boot, microservices architecture, SQL, Kafka, and Maven or Gradle. You will solve complex problems across distributed systems, cloud environments, and artificial intelligence workflows for lending technology.

What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Advanced Java experience including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Cloud in a microservices architecture.
Experience building cloud-native applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) using compute, storage, database, container, and serverless services.
Proficiency with automated testing frameworks like JUnit and mocking frameworks to ensure production system stability.
Experience with relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and event streaming technologies such as Kafka.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools while ensuring security and performance standards.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, modern build tools like Maven or Gradle, and version control systems like Git.
Basic Python scripting knowledge (preferred); infrastructure as code; containerization with Docker and Kubernetes (preferred).
