Lead Software Engineer, Java Backend Lead +AWS

What you'll do

• Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Establish consistent validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing.
• Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.
• Lead communities of practice to promote the awareness and use of leading-edge technologies.
• Architect, deploy, and operate cloud-native services using AWS infrastructure.
• Apply knowledge of SDLC toolchains and automation capabilities to improve overall development value.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Advanced proficiency in J2EE and Core Java, including Java 17 features like streaming, multithreading, and concurrency.
• Experience with the Spring Framework for building SOAP/RESTful Web Services, MVC, and Spring Boot.
• Strong AWS experience architecting, deploying, and operating cloud-native services like IAM, VPC, EC2, EKS, and S3.
• Experience with build and integration tools including JIRA, Maven, Git, Jenkins, GitHub, and BitBucket.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on responsible AI use.
• Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability using Agile methodologies.
• Proficiency in automation, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and web security including OAUTH2, Kerberos, and Cross Site Scripting.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems (preferred).
• Practical cloud native experience (preferred).
