As a Lead Software Engineer within the Consumer and Community Banking team, you will serve as a core technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting high-quality production code. You will build secure, scalable technology products by executing creative software solutions and leading the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices. Your daily work involves developing backend services using Java and Spring Boot within microservices architectures, implementing RESTful APIs, and managing cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform on AWS. You will utilize Docker, Kubernetes, Postgres, Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, and RabbitMQ. Additionally, you will apply DevOps and SRE practices using Jenkins, Splunk, and Grafana to ensure operational stability, perform threat modeling, and evaluate external vendor architectural designs for integration into existing information architectures.

What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
Design and implement RESTful web services and APIs using Java with Spring Boot in microservices architectures.
Define cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform and manage services on AWS.
Containerize and orchestrate applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
Build and maintain event streaming solutions using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code quality and delivery speed.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Proficiency developing backend services in Java with Spring Boot within microservices architectures.
Ability to design and implement RESTful web services and APIs.
Hands-on experience defining cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform and operating services on AWS.
Experience containerizing and orchestrating applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
Practical experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including Postgres, Cassandra, MongoDB, and Redis.
Experience building and maintaining event streaming solutions using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Well-versed in DevOps and SRE practices, including CI/CD with Jenkins and observability using Splunk and Grafana.
