As a Lead Software Engineer Java/AWS, you will join the Consumer and community Banking - Trust and Security Team to build and deliver trusted, scalable technology products. You will serve as a core technical contributor, designing and maintaining Java-based services using Spring Boot while developing microservices architectures focused on resiliency and secure service-to-service communication. Your daily responsibilities include writing high-quality production code, troubleshooting complex technical problems, and deploying cloud-native solutions on Amazon Web Services. You will utilize the full Software Development Life Cycle, including CI/CD, to automate remediation of recurring issues. Additionally, you will drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code review and testing. What you'll do

Develop and maintain high-quality, secure production code using Java and Spring Boot.
Design and build scalable microservices architectures with a focus on resiliency and observability.
Build, deploy, and support cloud-native solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Conduct technical troubleshooting and design creative solutions for complex technical problems.
Review and debug code written by other team members to ensure engineering standards.
Automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code quality and delivery.
Manage the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using automated CI/CD toolchains.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
Demonstrated experience building production services in Java and Spring Boot.
Demonstrated experience designing and delivering microservices-based solutions, including distributed systems troubleshooting and performance tuning.
Practical experience building and operating workloads on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in a security-conscious environment.
Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle and advanced understanding of agile methodologies like CI/CD.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
