As a Lead Software Engineer – Java/Python (AWS) within the Data Technology space for Consumer & Community Banking, you will join an agile team to build secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will utilize CI/CD toolchains and observability practices to improve reliability and delivery throughput across the software development life cycle.

What you'll do

Design and develop secure, high-quality production code for cloud-native services on AWS.
Lead system design and implementation for APIs, standalone services, and event-driven components.
Drive the adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish measurable validation standards for AI-assisted workflows including secure coding and automated testing.
Apply SDLC toolchain expertise in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and observability to improve reliability.
Provide technical guidance and direction to engineering teams, contractors, and vendors.
Serve as a subject matter expert on firm-wide frameworks, tools, and engineering practices.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on experience delivering mission-critical production services including system design, application development, testing, and capacity planning.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages including Java, Python, or Go.
Strong experience with AWS services to host APIs, run applications, and implement event-driven services.
Experience organizing Terraform workspaces and developing Terraform code for infrastructure as code.
Experience designing and developing microservices, backend services, and backend data models with relational or NoSQL databases.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and understanding responsible AI use.
Experience with messaging systems, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, TDD, and secure coding principles (preferred).
