As a Lead Software Engineer within Asset and Wealth Management Advisor & Investment Technology, you will serve as a hands-on technical developer responsible for designing, building, and operating critical technology solutions. You must utilize Python, Java, and AWS while applying knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, event-driven design, NoSQL data stores, and CI/CD DevOps toolchains. You will solve complex problems by building cloud-native applications, ensuring application resiliency, and managing technical documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger within an agile delivery model.

What you'll do

Design, build, and operate critical technology solutions aligned with firm objectives.
Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for others.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.
Apply knowledge of SDLC toolchains and automation capabilities to improve software delivery value.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied software engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of modern architectures including microservices, REST APIs, event-driven design, and NoSQL data stores.
Experience building cloud-native applications and services with working knowledge of AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
Demonstrated experience delivering at least two large, complex applications end-to-end from initial build through production delivery.
Working knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps toolchains, observability/monitoring practices, and a test-driven approach within agile delivery models.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
Advanced understanding of application resiliency and security principles and practices.
Strong technical documentation skills including API documentation with OpenAPI/Swagger (preferred).
