What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other engineers.
Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve delivery speed and code quality.
Establish measurable validation standards for AI-assisted workflows including secure coding and automated testing.
Influence product design and technical operations through high-level architecture and engineering decisions.
Design and develop microservices, backend services, and data models using Java, Python, or Go.
Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and manage AWS services for APIs and event-driven systems.
Serve as a subject matter expert to provide technical guidance to business teams, contractors, and vendors.
Advocate for firmwide SDLC frameworks and tools within the broader engineering community.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, or Go) with strong AWS experience.
Experience with AWS services for hosting APIs, standalone applications, inter-application messaging, and event-driven services.
Experience organizing Terraform workspaces and developing Terraform code (IaC).
Experience designing and developing microservices, backend services, and backend data models with databases.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and coaching others on compliant usage.
Experience with messaging systems, Docker, containerization, CI/CD tools, TDD, and secure coding principles (preferred).
