As a Lead Software Engineer - Java/Microservices/AWS within the Post Trade Technology Reporting team, you will serve as a core technical contributor in an agile environment. You will design, build, and own end-to-end applications while leading technical activities during a major migration and modernization journey. Your daily responsibilities include developing code that meets non-functional requirements, performing unit and integration testing, and conducting peer reviews to ensure high code quality. You will mentor junior developers and drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices. Key technical requirements include hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and AWS Cloud technologies. You must demonstrate proficiency in CI/CD, application resiliency, and security while troubleshooting production issues and managing database querying languages within a large corporate software development life cycle.
Develop code that meets design specifications, non-functional requirements, and established coding standards.
Create and execute unit tests, integration tests, and support QA and user acceptance testing.
Design and build scalable applications as part of a migration and modernization journey.
Conduct peer code reviews to evaluate quality, identify defects, and provide actionable feedback.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code quality and delivery speed.
Mentor junior developers through technical guidance, knowledge-sharing sessions, and work reviews.
Analyze programs to troubleshoot production issues and implement performance tuning measures.
Manage the software development life cycle including change management and release processes.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on experience coding in one or more programming languages, including Java.
Experience designing and implementing applications using Spring Boot.
Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud technologies.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages.
Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Demonstrated experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools.
Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
