As a Java AWS Software Engineer III within the Commercial & Investment Bank Post Trade Technology Reporting team, you will serve as a core technical contributor in an agile environment. You will design, build, and test applications as part of a migration and modernization journey to deliver secure, scalable technology products. Your daily responsibilities include developing code that meets non-functional requirements, performing unit and integration testing, and participating in peer reviews. You will mentor junior developers and drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices. Required skills include Java, Spring Boot, and AWS Cloud technologies, along with experience in CI/CD and the Software Development Life Cycle. Preferred expertise includes Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Docker, Databricks, MongoDB, and Apache Iceberg for big data warehouse management.
Develop code that meets design specifications, non-functional requirements, and established coding standards.
Create and execute unit tests, integration tests, and support QA and user acceptance testing.
Practice test-driven development, automated testing, and continuous integration.

What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on experience coding in one or more programming languages, including Java.
Experience designing and implementing applications using Spring Boot.
Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud technologies.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and understanding responsible AI use in engineering workflows.
Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
Proven experience designing and building scalable big data warehouses using Apache Spark (preferred).
