As a Senior Lead Software Engineer within the Employee Experience team, you will lead the end-to-end design and delivery of scalable Java services and APIs. You will architect cloud-native solutions on Amazon Web Services, optimizing for performance, resiliency, and cost-aware scalability. Your daily responsibilities include mentoring engineers through code reviews, building data pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark, and driving engineering excellence via continuous integration and automated testing. You will utilize Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, SQL, and Kafka to solve complex problems across distributed systems. Additionally, you will drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, including agentic workflows and human-in-the-loop validation. You will ensure secure, stable, and scalable technology products while managing data sensitivity and responsible AI usage within the software development life cycle.

What you'll do

Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of scalable Java services and APIs for production environments.
Architect and implement cloud-native solutions on Amazon Web Services using reliable and cost-aware patterns.
Mentor engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and the establishment of pragmatic engineering standards.
Build and optimize data pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark for large-scale analytics and machine learning.
Drive engineering excellence by managing continuous integration, automated testing, and secure software development practices.
Govern the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
Define technical strategies with product and design partners to automate workflows and improve user experience.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Advanced Java experience, including building Spring Boot-based services in a microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience building cloud-native applications on Amazon Web Services.
Experience with continuous integration, delivery, and modern build/version control practices like Git, Maven, or Gradle.
Proficiency with automated testing frameworks like JUnit and a strong quality-first mindset.
Experience with relational databases, SQL, and messaging patterns like Kafka.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and responsible AI practices.
Advanced Python experience for automation, data engineering, or machine learning enablement (preferred).
