The Lead Software Engineer joins the Global Technology Banking team to enhance and deliver trusted market-leading technology products. As a core technical contributor, you will shape the platform’s technical direction by building scalable, resilient services and engineering secure data flows. You will own the full stack from micro-frontend UX to cloud-native backend services, transforming fragmented screening and origination processes into a unified, automated platform for the Transaction Development suite. You will utilize AWS, Terraform, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and Docker to support AI and analytics workflows. What you'll do

Design and implement complex software components across backend services, APIs, and UI experiences using Java, Python, and React.
Build and refine agentic capabilities using the Smart SDK, including tool integration and production-grade safety guardrails.
Write secure production code and perform code reviews to improve maintainability, performance, and consistency across the codebase.
Engineer data and search solutions using PostgreSQL for schema design and OpenSearch for indexing and query tuning.
Contribute to cloud-native engineering on AWS using Terraform for infrastructure-as-code and deployment safety.
Drive operational excellence by identifying recurring issues and implementing automation and preventative controls to reduce toil.
Lead the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Participate in technical evaluation sessions with internal partners and external vendors to assess architecture and technical fit.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Strong hands-on expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
Proficiency with AWS, Terraform, GitHub, Jenkins, and modern developer tooling like GitHub Copilot.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on responsible AI use.
Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Redis, Cassandra), and GraphQL.
Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes).
Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from design and implementation through production support.
Demonstrated expertise with monitoring/observability tools (Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, CloudWatch) and leading teams by influence.
