As a Lead Software Engineer - Java with Agentic AI within the Consumer & Community Banking team, you will serve as a core technical contributor developing trusted, scalable technology products. You must be proficient in Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, EKS, and Kafka. The role requires applying responsible AI workflows to production code, managing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring application resiliency and security within a complex financial services software environment.

What you'll do

Develop, design, and troubleshoot secure, high-quality production code using Core Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Build SDD tooling to derive contract checks, mocks, and validation from machine-readable specifications.
Lead the rollout of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Specification-Driven Development (SDD) practices across teams.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.
Lead communities of practice to promote the awareness and use of leading-edge technologies.
Review and debug code written by other engineers while establishing consistent validation standards.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 8+ years of applied experience.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants/agents to design, implement, test, and debug production code.
Proficiency in Core Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot with strong coding skills.
Experience in build and deployment processes and proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Knowledge of EKS, Kafka, and message parsers.
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
Experience using AWS - EKS and Bedrock (preferred).
AI-Agentic approach in automation (preferred).
