Lead Software Engineer, Java with Agentic AI

What you'll do

• Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Establish consistent validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing.
• Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.
• Lead communities of practice to promote the awareness and use of leading-edge technologies.
• Coach engineers on the safe, compliant, and responsible use of AI tools within engineering workflows.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on coding experience, primarily in Java and J2EE.
• Proficiency in Core Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot with strong coding skills.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants/agents to design, implement, test, and debug production code.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
• Experience defining test scenarios and automating unit and integration tests.
• Skills in performance testing, code optimization, MQ, Kafka, Oracle, and Cassandra databases.
• Experience with build and deployment processes using Bitbucket, Git, Jules, and CLOUD.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as ReactJS (preferred).
• Certification in Oracle JDK17 or JDK21 (preferred).
