As a Lead Software Engineer-Java with Agentic AI within the Consumer & Community Banking team, you will serve as a core technical contributor building trusted, scalable technology products. You will design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions while driving the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed. Your daily responsibilities include building SDD tooling using OpenAPI, Swagger, JSON Schema, and AsyncAPI for Kafka, leading communities of practice, and conducting vendor evaluations. You must possess 8+ years of experience with Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, EKS, and Kafka. You will solve complex technical problems by implementing BDD and SDD practices, managing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring secure, high-quality production code while navigating data sensitivity and resiliency requirements within a secure software development life cycle.
Develop, debug, and review secure, high-quality production code using Core Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Build SDD tooling to derive contract checks, mocks, and validation from machine-readable specifications.
Lead the rollout of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Specification-Driven Development (SDD) practices.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software systems.
Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.
Lead communities of practice to drive awareness and adoption of leading-edge technologies across Software Engineering.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 8+ years of applied experience.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and coaching engineers on compliant adoption.
Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants/agents to design, implement, test, and debug production code.
Proficiency in Core Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot with strong coding skills.
Experience in build and deployment processes, EKS, Kafka, and message parsers.
Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle and advanced understanding of CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
Experience using AWS - EKS and Bedrock (preferred).
