What you'll do

Design and build core Java/J2EE-based shared services that power Visa’s global product ecosystem.
Lead the development of scalable, secure, and reusable foundational platforms for multiple product teams.
Design and implement cloud-native, containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes.
Translate business requirements into scalable shared-service architectures through discovery and design sessions.
Define and formalize best practices for API design, security, and service scalability.
Partner with security teams to implement secure API gateways and authentication mechanisms.
Analyze systemic patterns across defects and performance metrics to drive long-term platform improvements.
Mentor engineers on technical excellence and contribute to organizational growth through leadership initiatives.

What we're looking for

10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 7 years with an Advanced degree, or 4 years with a PhD.
13+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
Work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or with an Advanced degree, or with a PhD (preferred).
13+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree (preferred).
Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, and RESTful services.
Experience designing highly available, scalable, and secure distributed systems using Docker and Kubernetes.
Deep understanding of security requirements, including secure API gateways, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
Proven track record in technical leadership, including system design, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.
