Senior Lead Software Engineer, Platform Engineering

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain a proprietary Java framework based on Spring Boot for messaging, data, and observability.
• Manage the framework's versioning and release strategy to support multiple active versions and coordinate consumer migrations.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive test automation strategy including unit, integration, and contract tests.
• Lead the team’s approach to containerized delivery and manage how the framework interacts with platform image strategies.
• Contribute to shared platform services that wire applications into the runtime environment.
• Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Resolve complex, cross-cutting issues originating in the framework layer rather than individual consumer applications.
• Participate in global platform design discussions to influence cross-site architectural decisions and system design.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Significant Java engineering experience with depth in framework or platform library development.
• Strong understanding of Spring Boot internals, including auto-configuration and bean lifecycle.
• Experience building test automation for library/framework code and managing semantic versioning strategies.
• Solid experience with containerized applications, runtime systems, and core cloud CI/CD tooling like Terraform and Spinnaker.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools while ensuring security and quality standards.
• Strong system design skills and a proven track record as a technical lead mentoring others and conducting code reviews.
• Experience with Kafka, Cassandra, OpenTelemetry, or working in large-scale financial services organizations (preferred).
