Lead Software Engineer, Full-Stack Java, React & AI

What you'll do

• Own application components end-to-end across the SDLC, including architecture, build, test, deployment, and production support.
• Design and deliver secure, resilient, high-performance services for enterprise-scale managed-account platforms.
• Lead technical discovery, solution design, and complexity estimation for high-impact initiatives.
• Coach engineers through code reviews, pairing, and the establishment of pragmatic engineering standards.
• Drive adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality and operational outcomes.
• Create high-quality prompts and reusable guidance to provide AI agents with business and architectural context.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and developer experience by reducing manual effort.
• Apply architectural patterns such as DDD, microservices, and event-driven designs where they add value.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on enterprise software engineering experience using Java, J2EE, REST APIs, Spring Boot, Hibernate, microservices, and relational databases.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
• Strong experience designing highly scalable, secure, resilient, and observable distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of object-oriented design, Domain-Driven Design, microservices patterns, and modern cloud-native architectures.
• Strong test-driven development skills with practical experience using JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, or comparable automation frameworks.
• Proficiency in SQL, complex queries, and database change management; Liquibase experience is beneficial (preferred).
• Experience with Agile software delivery and building CI/CD pipelines using Git, Maven, Jenkins, or SonarQube.
