Lead Software Engineer - Full-Stack Java, React & AI joins the Asset & Wealth Management team to build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products for enterprise-scale managed-account platforms. This role involves owning application components end-to-end across the software development life cycle, including architecture, deployment, and production support while translating complex requirements into technical plans. The engineer will lead technical discovery, coach other engineers through code reviews, and drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices using tools like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot. Core technologies include Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, and microservices, alongside front-end skills in React and TypeScript. The role requires expertise in SQL, JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, and CI/CD pipelines involving Maven and Jenkins to solve complex problems within the financial services domain.
Own application components end-to-end across the SDLC, including architecture, build, testing, deployment, and production support.
Translate complex business requirements into actionable technical plans for enterprise-scale managed-account platforms.
Design and deliver secure, resilient, high-performance microservices using modern architectural patterns like DDD and cloud-native designs.
Lead technical discovery, solution design, and complexity estimation for high-impact engineering initiatives.
Coach engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and the establishment of pragmatic engineering standards.
Drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development speed, quality, and operational outcomes.
Create high-quality prompts and reusable guidance to provide AI agents with necessary business and architectural context.
Improve CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and developer experience by reducing manual effort and tightening feedback loops.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
10+ years of hands-on enterprise software engineering experience using Java, J2EE, REST APIs, Spring Boot, Hibernate, microservices, and relational databases like Oracle or Sybase.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted development tools while ensuring outputs are secure, performant, and correct.
Strong understanding of responsible AI usage in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and security compliance.
Experience designing scalable, secure, resilient, and observable distributed systems using DDD, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
Proficiency in SQL (complex queries, joins, stored procedures) and experience with CI/CD tools like Git, Maven, Jenkins, or SonarQube.
Strong test-driven development skills using JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, or similar automation frameworks.
Experience with React, Angular, TypeScript, Kafka, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, Cloud Foundry, and financial services domain knowledge (preferred).
