Java / React Full Stack Lead Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead the technical design and delivery of complex full-stack capabilities using Java, Spring Boot, and React/Angular.
• Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Implement event-driven patterns using Kafka, including idempotency, retries, and error handling.
• Establish engineering standards for test strategies, automation, CI/CD quality gates, and observability.
• Own production excellence by managing incident reduction, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across multiple squads and partner teams.
• Design resilient, highly available architectures that meet strict cybersecurity and technology control requirements.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Deep expertise in Java 8+, Spring Boot, microservices, and React or Angular.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and compliant adoption.
• Strong Kafka and event-driven architecture experience including retries, idempotency, and DLQ patterns.
• Experience with SQL databases for data modeling and NoSQL experience with Cassandra, DynamoDB, or Elastic Search.
• Strong experience with Cloud Foundry, AWS, and CI/CD strategy and execution.
• Demonstrated leadership in design reviews, mentoring, and cross-team technical alignment.
• Ability to work with observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana.
• Experience building resilient, highly available architectures and designing to meet Cyber Security and Technology Control requirements.
• Cross-team delivery leadership, PCI experience, and AWS certifications (preferred).
