The Lead, Project Engineer joins the engineering team to support the bid and execution of complex system integration efforts on airborne platforms. Key responsibilities include planning program activities, managing technical baselines, work breakdown structures, and budgets, and leading design reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR. The individual will serve as the primary technical interface for customers and manage engineering functional task leaders across systems, software, aeronautical, specialty, and logistic engineering. Required competencies include experience in program planning, bid and proposal development, and engineering processes, alongside a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

What you'll do

Lead a cross-functional team to resolve complex design and system integration challenges.
Manage project plans, technical baselines, work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts.
Review and approve engineering deliverables, including test plans, technical reports, and design changes.
Lead design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and milestone reviews with customers and suppliers.
Drive root cause investigations and implement corrective or preventive actions for engineering nonconformances.
Provide technical leadership for bid and proposal development, including BOE generation and technical volume responses.
Track engineering performance metrics and brief senior leadership on monthly program status.
Ensure program execution complies with all performance, reliability, safety, and engineering process standards.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
Minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Demonstrated experience in program planning, guidance, and engineering execution within scope, schedule, and budget.
Demonstrated experience understanding engineering processes and policies.
Demonstrated experience in Bid and Proposal development.
Demonstrated experience in Aero, Software/Hardware, Systems, or Project Engineering.
U.S. citizens.
