What you'll do

Serve as a subject matter expert on VMware and Linux environments to provide technical guidance.
Ensure end-to-end monitoring of applications and infrastructure to resolve performance and availability issues.
Resolve complex technical challenges independently and determine appropriate escalation paths for high-scope projects.
Manage daily activities related to standard capacity management processes and associated applications.
Partner with teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation efforts.
Evaluate data flows, system dependencies, and technical implications when making architectural or operational decisions.
Utilize enterprise-authorized AI tools to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation.
Implement automation routines using scripting languages like Python, Terraform, or Ansible to improve delivery.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
Strong knowledge of infrastructure disciplines including VMware/ESXi, Linux/Unix, Microsoft Windows, hardware, networking, databases, storage, and automation.
Proficiency in scripting or automation languages such as Python, Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools.
Demonstrated ability to make significant technical decisions on projects spanning multiple technologies and applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex infrastructure challenges independently.
Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities for infrastructure analysis while ensuring data security and validation.
Hands-on experience supporting VMware vSphere ESXi hosts and vCenter environments (preferred).
System administration experience with Linux, Unix, or Windows operating systems (preferred).
