Required skills include proficiency in IBMi Operating Systems, ROBOT, NDM, SFTP, SMTP, MQ v9, BRMS, Clustering, and VIOS. You must also possess knowledge of storage SAN, distributed servers, and Site Reliability Engineering to automate manual operations across various hardware and software components.

What you'll do

  • Solve complex technical problems through creative design, development, and troubleshooting for infrastructure projects.
  • Manage and modernize IBMi infrastructure using best practice methods and innovative technologies.
  • Utilize enterprise-authorized AI tools to accelerate infrastructure analysis and documentation while ensuring data security.
  • Lead workstreams to architect and implement changes that modernize organizational technology processes.
  • Analyze upstream and downstream impacts of technical changes and advise on necessary mitigation actions.
  • Implement AI-assisted automation routines to identify recurring issues and ensure traceable, auditable remediation.
  • Coordinate with external vendors like IBM to manage hardware replacements and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
  • Perform Site Reliability Engineering tasks by designing and coding software to automate manual operational work.

What we're looking for

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Deep knowledge in areas such as hardware, networking, databases, storage, deployment, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support infrastructure workflows with strong validation habits and data sensitivity awareness.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations while ensuring outcomes align with resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
  • Understanding of IBMi hardware architecture including distributed servers, storage SAN, database, and application components.
  • Software knowledge of IBMi Operating Systems, ROBOT, NDM, SFTP, SMTP, MQ v9, BRMS, Clustering, and VIOS.
  • Knowledge in Site Reliability Engineering to design, code, test, and deliver software to automate manual operational work.
  • Proficiency in Incident/Problem/Change management processes and troubleshooting priority incidents.
  • Understanding of business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement (preferred).
  • Experience working in multi-operational environments including Non-Stop, IBM z Series, AIX, UNIX, and other distributed systems (preferred).
  • Exposure or competence with Agile Development approach (preferred).
