Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Network Connectivity Services joins the Infrastructure Platform Network Services team to design, build, and optimize infrastructure platforms for global operations. This role involves leading requirements capture, managing the full tender and bid lifecycle for telecom connectivity solutions across the Americas, and developing end-to-end designs aligned with architectural patterns. The engineer will ensure high availability by embedding resilience and risk controls into network designs while managing supplier relationships and performance governance. Key technical competencies include expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and deep knowledge of networking technologies including dark fiber, DWDM, Ethernet, IP-VPN, DIA, broadband, cellular, and satellite connectivity. The role also requires proficiency in using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities for infrastructure analysis and documentation while navigating the complexities of the Americas telecom connectivity market.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications for high-performance network connectivity solutions.
Create end-to-end network designs including high-level and low-level diagrams based on approved architectural patterns.
Manage the full tender and bid lifecycle for telecom connectivity, from RFP coordination to vendor selection.
Integrate resilience and operational risk controls into all infrastructure designs to eliminate single points of failure.
Lead design reviews and manage architecture governance to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
Manage supplier relationships and hold providers accountable to service level agreements and performance metrics.
Act as a regional expert on the Americas telecom market to drive technology adoption and strategy.
Utilize enterprise-authorized AI tools to accelerate infrastructure analysis, documentation, and automation routines.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP including compute, storage, and networking services.
Deep knowledge of networking and telecommunications technologies (Layers 0-3) including dark fiber, DWDM, Ethernet, IP-VPN, DIA, broadband, cellular, and satellite.
Demonstrated expertise in the Americas telecom connectivity market, carrier ecosystems, and infrastructure landscapes.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to influence across business and technical domains.
Solid organizational and time management skills to manage multiple concurrent projects across geographies.
Ability to use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities for infrastructure analysis and design documentation while ensuring data security.
Experience with Atlassian tools, hybrid architectures, relevant cloud certifications, data analytics, or experience in regulated industries (preferred).
